Centralia, PA. Thirty years ago.An underground coal fire has been discovered in a small town located in the heart of Pennsylvania Coal Region. The ordeal of a young girl has proven the town is in immediate danger. Witnesses say the earth seemed to swallow her up whole in a sulfurous cloud of smoke. Her fate would have been sealed if not for one man who dove into the flaming throat of the earth and denied the inferno its' victim.......but that's just the beginning.
